It is easy to switch over to power yoga
Power yoga is the Western adaptation of 'Ashtanga Yoga' with a vigorous and fitness-based approach to traditional yoga. The purpose of power yoga was to modify yoga and make it more accessible to Western audience.
GENERALLY YOGA is done with slow movements to make the body stay in acquired posture for some time with a compete awareness. It is meant for body-mind unity.

  • The purpose was to modify yoga and make it more accessible to Western audience.

  • Power yoga is part of many gymnasiums of the West now.
  • Three American yoga teachers Beryl Bender Birch and Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste are said to have popularised power yoga.
  • Hardly there is any chanting and meditation with power yoga.
In fact, in power yoga the breath-synchronised movements from one pose to another in quick succession.

If Surya Namaskar yoga or sun salutation sequence with breathing sequence in a fast pace, it becomes power yoga. In fact, the teacher instructs the performer to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale.
