It's Hindi Divas today
The country is celebrating Hindi Divas today. September 14 each year is celebrated as Hindi Day in India. It was on this date in 1949 that Hindi was adopted as the official language of Constituent assembly in 1949.

LATER, in 1950, the Constitution of India adopted Hindi in Devanagri Script of the official language of the union.

In 1965, the Government of India, gave the directive to use Hindi as the sole working language of the central government offices but later English was allowed to be used along with Hindi. Hindi is also called as a ‘link language’ of India.

Though the word ‘Hindi’ has its origin in Persian but Sanskrit is the mother of Hindi.

Here are some popular slogans in favour of Hindi on the internet are as follows.

Haath mei tumhare, des ki shaan,/Hindi apnakar tum bano mahaan.

Hindi ko diwas me nahin, dillon me qaid karo.

Punam Grover conveys her feelings about Hindi as follows on her Facebook:

Man main umarata hai jab bhawanaoo ka tufan, chahta hai mil jaye usse ek aisi zuban. Jiss bhav sey socha ho, jo janamghutti see basi ho, aissi ko samghana hi to hai aassan.
