The weather in India varies dramatically. Although the northern parts of India were cooler this time in the month of April, but in May and the months ahead this part will witness heat waves. From last few days heat waves have thrown normal life out of gear in the northern as well as the central India. The central and southern parts are also boiling.
Chief Meteorologist at
Skymet, Mahesh Palawat while speaking about the possible climatic
conditions in the coming days said that the present temperature is
slightly above normal, and in 3-4 days it will be normal. He also
explained the reason behind the late arrival of summers in Northern
part of India, and said, “The western disturbances which normally
starts from November to February were extended till later half of the
April, and hence the the summers came late in Northern parts of the
When asked about the rise
in temperature, which is touching 40-42 degrees in North India, while
in Central India, it has already touched 45 degrees. He said that
this was going to continue for another two months, when the
temperature may go upto 45-47 degree, but will not touch the 50
In Northern India the
temperature may touch the mark of 43-44 degrees and in areas near
Rajasthan it may go upto 47 degrees. The temperature in the southern
part of India is 2-3 degrees above normal and there the monsoon will
be on time.
This climatic change is
majorly due to ecological disturbance and the fading green cover.
About the the amount of rainfall this year Palawat said, “The
amount of rainfall will be almost the same as compared to the last
year. But the only difference is that the pattern of the rainfall is
different, the spell will be short and intensity of the spell will be
more. This kind of rainfall is not good for the farmers and the
government and district administration should make some arrangement
to reserve the water to help the farmers."
