Jail: Movie Review
Jail is a shocking movie, which brings out the reality of life and various aspects of Indian society. The movie's theme is based on an innocent jail inmate and his experiences as an innocent under-trial, who gets caught in a vicious legal system.
MADHUR BHANDARKAR, the national award winning filmmaker has yet again delievered what was expected of him. His latest movie Jail hit the screens today and it has received a good response from the audiences. Jail is another of Madhur's shocking movie, which brings out the reality of life of various aspects of society.

The movie's theme is based on an innocent jail inmate and his psychology. The movie has all the elements needed to make it a hit on the box office. Jail exposes the evils gripping our legal system and has been nicely brought on screen by Madhur.

Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the role of Parag Dixit an ambitious guy, who is out to conquer the world. He has a good job in hand, along with a nice lovable girlfriend Mansi, played by Mugdha Godse. Everything is going well for the lad and it looks as if he has a bright future, but there is something else in store for him. One eventful day is enough to change his whole life.

Parag, stays with his roommate but is unaware of his real identity and gets caught in a web of drugs and deceit. Parag's best friend, a drug dealer gets him involved in a drug racket as he slips into coma. Parag is sent to the police custody and then the nightmare starts. He is forced to spend 2 years in the jail, waiting for his trial.

Even after the trial begins, it gets delayed by legal glitches in our system. He is tortured, hand cuffed and beaten up by the police for something he has not done. Parag finds the only hope in the form of Manoj Bajpai, who plays the role of Nawaab, a convict and also a warden, who believes that Parag is innocent. Parag, who is left clueless about his case has to spend 8 rigorous years in the jail, fighting for innocence.

The movie has brought out the best in Neil in terms of his acting, body language and delivery of dialogues. On the other hand Mugdha has acted brilliantly in her short role, playing a role of a desperate lady waiting for her lover.

The movie is interesting and keeps the audience glued to the seats.

A must watch movie.
