Jaipur all set for Rajasthan Day celebrations
Two-day extravagant celebrations in Jaipur have been finalized on the occasion of the Rajasthan Day on March 30. The Rajasthan's tourism department has notified a mix of cultural and classical events for March 29 and 30 for the occasion.

The celebrations will begin with a tourism awareness programme for special children in which the children will be taken to Albert Hall, Jantar Mantar and City Palace in the morning of March 29.

Puppet shows will be held in Rangaayan at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) from 11 am to 12 noon on both the days. Also, a 'Maha Arti' will be held at Ganesh Ji Temple (Moti Dungri), along with special prayers at Gurudwara (Raja Park), St Xaviers School Church and Mosque (Subhash Chowk).

Other highlights of the celebrations will be the Bharat Natyam performance by Devyani, jazz musical performance, classical singing by singer Shubha Mudgal and performance by flutist Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia.

A food and Craft Bazaar is already on as part of the celebration since March 21 at the Shilpgram being organized by Rural Non Farm Development Agency (RUDA) with Rajasthani folk performances to entertain the visitors.

It may be recalled that Rajasthan state was formed on 30 March 1949, when the region known as Rajputana was merged into the Dominion of India. According to the state government tourism industry accounts for about eight percent of the state's domestic product and has resulted in an enhanced employment in the hospitality business.
