Jaipur-based university observes International Day of Non-Violence
International Day of Non-Violence was observed at Chaksu-based campus of Jagan Nath University, Jaipur, on October 2, stated the press release issued by the university.

It stated, "Smallness, simplicity and nonviolence are the three remedies for the maladies of the modern society. It is the need of the day to draw lessons from the wise words of wisdom (www) and work without worries (www) -the real world wide web of lifelong learning from Gandhian thoughts in general and Khadi in particular."  This was opined by Professor (Dr.) M.M. Goel, Vice Chancellor, Jagan Nath University while addressing the students and teachers here today informed Surbhi Vijay , Public Relation Officer (PRO) in the release.

Endless greed is the real menace facing the world today.  Bhagavad-Gita identifies greed as one of the three doors to hell (verse 21 chapter 16) leading to the ruin the soul, told Goel.

It is unfortunate that leading economists of the world promote greed as the basis of economic growth, turning it into a "Greedonomics". Economics should be based on need, not on greed. It should be a "Needonomics", and not a "Greedonomics".  Kaun Benega Crorepati (KBC) programme telecast in India on TV, the host talks the language of money devoid of any moral responsibility which is causing terrible behavioural pollution in the mind of the viewers including youth. Such language convinces the people to believe that money is the greatest reality of life.  The KBC Programme is engendering terrible crimes of multidimensional nature, believes Goel.

Non-violence in economics 'Needonomics' is the panacea of all the problems including corruption, terrorism, deprivation, discrimination and discontent  prevailing in the society and are caused by greed, holds Goel.

On this occasion the students of university Shubham Sharma, Mukund Ranga, Mahendra Meghwal, Deepak Holkar, Siddharth Patidar, Pravin Deora, Monu Sharma, Vishal Royal, CP Yadav, Vijay Solanki, Summit Patel, Dhwaj kumar, Ravi gujar, Rohit Rao, Surya and Yogendre presented a drama on life of Mahatma Gandhi . After that student presented songs and a skit on the life of Gandhi ji.
