Jaipur Ganesha temples decked up for Lord's birth anniversary celebrations
With Ganesha Chaturthi around the corner, the Ganesha temples at Moti Dungri, Surajpole, Badi Chaupar and Nahargarh localicities of Jaipur are being decked up. Confectioners are busy preparing laddus or modaks and potters clay Ganesha idols for home worship.

The festival of Ganesha Chaturthi celebrated on the birthday of Lord Ganesha on the shukla chaturthi of Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada. This year the festival falls on August 29.

Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune by the Hindus around the world. In Maharastha and some southern states, the festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi with daily worship and fasting.

Jaipur devotees will throng Moti Dungri Ganesha temple, also called Ganesha Giri temple, and people from far away distance too will come to this sacred temple to pay their homage to Lord Ganesh on the festival day. The festival is marked with special Aartis and other devotional events by the popular music groups and devotees.
