Jaipur observes Rathyatra festival with fervour and devotion
This year various Krishna temples of Jaipur are organizing the Rath Yatra festival in the city. The festival involves transporting deities on a chariot. However, the celebration by ISKCON-Jaipur is the main attraction for residents from all sectors of the community because of its Harinaam Sankirtan with dance and play of musical instruments.
In Jaipur, which is known for celebrating colorful festivals, Rath Yatra festival has become one of the prominent additions, since last decade. According to ISKCON, "Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra Maharani give full mercy without any discrimination to all the devotees, residents and visitors."

It may be added that the Ratha Yatra festival has become a common sight in most major cities of the world since 1968 through the efforts of the ISKCON Hare Krishna movement which is popular in the west now.

The message of Prime Minister Narender Modi on observance of the Rath Yatra of Jagannath that dates back to the period of the Puranas, in the social media conveys: "My warm greetings to the people on the occasion of the Rath Yatras that would be held across India today. We bow to Lord Jagannath on this auspicious day. Today once again he sets out on his chariot, giving blessings to the people."

He adds, "We pray to Lord Jagannath for peace, prosperity & happiness in India. May Lord Jagannath bless us with good monsoon that will help farmers. As Gujarat CM I had the honour to perform the Pahind Vidhi ritual during the Yatra in Ahmedabad. It is an experience I really cherished."
