Jaipur remembers noted educationist and activist Anil Bordia on his first death anniversary
The first death anniversary of eminent educationist, activist, former civil servant and Padma Bhushan awardee Anil Bordia was observed with a memorial lecture by the noted social activist Aruna Roy.

Speaking at a function organised at the Officers' Staff Training (OTS) Institute in Jaipur, Roy said that late Bordia not only played an important role in defining the country’s new education policy, he launched a number of projects in the social sector by mobilising local communities and empowering them.

Sh. Bordia's family members, friends and project associates while paying rich tributes to him praised his foresights in planning and execution of various activities during the internationally acclaimed project of Lok Jumbish and Dusra Dushak.

It was mentioned that for Bordia the starting point of any new venture lied in analyzing its challenge, reaching out to others with experience and understanding of the issue before raising a team.

It was recalled that his expertise in microplanning and participatory positive decision-making to facilitate the implementation of planned activities  on the ground, always led to effective outcomes.

He not only mobilized and empowered the marginalized communities and women but also tapped the community resources and energy to transform society through his social and educational projects.

It was recalled that Borgia believed that the oppressed, whether by caste or gender or economic disadvantage, have an understanding of their existential reality and of how to address it, if they mobilized and made stakeholders in the projects and programmes.
