Jaipur temples decked up for Hanuman Jayanti celebration
Various temples of Hanuman in Jaipur have been decked up for Hanuman Jayanti on April 22 this year. The idols will be washed, decorated and dressed with new clothes and ornaments.
Even theme-based decorations of the temple premises have been planned this time. However, the main festivities and maha-aarti have been planned at the city's Kholi-ke-Hanuman temple.

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on full moon day during Chaitra month to commemorate the birth of Hanuman, who is also known as Vanara God. Hanuman Jayanti on Chaitra Purnima is most popular in Rajasthan that is dotted with Hanuman temples.

One may be surprised to know that in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated for 41-days, which starts on Chaitra Purnima and ends on the tenth day during Krishna Paksha in Vaishakha month.

Since it is widely believed that Hanuman was born at sunrise, therefore, on Hanuman Jayanti day, various temples in Jaipur will start the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and spiritual discourses at dawn before sunrise.
