An international conference on 'MOOC, Innovation and Technology in Education' (MITE) is set to take place on 20-22 December at Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jaipur, to complement the popular frontiers in education worldwide.
According to the organizers, the aim of MITE-2013 is to provide a forum for academicians and professionals from various educational fields and with cross-disciplinary interests to network, share knowledge and engage in dialogue around the theme of fostering innovation and excellence in engineering education.
The conference has invited submissions that are both research and practice-oriented to encompass all aspects of education in the engineering fields. The conference, under the auspices of IEEE Education Society, will feature traditional paper presentations, workshops, as well as keynotes by renowned educational experts and authorities.
The main themes of the conference are the educational technology; innovation as part of education; education accreditation, quality and assessment; massive open online courses; education paradigms: developed and developing world; and case studies of teaching learning process.
With the emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), the centrality of educational technology in the conference has been envisaged. The sub-topics under the theme of educational technology are as follows computer-based learning and courseware technologies; educational games and simulations; mobile learning; and educational laboratories; digital divide; ethical conundrum; class websites; class blogs and wikis; online study tools; video on demand; virtual experiments; intelligent tutoring and mentoring; infrastructure and technology for engineering education; infrastructure and technology for K-12 Education.
