Jaipur to host national conference on 'Head and Neck Oncology'
The 13th annual national conference of Foundation for Head and Neck Oncology (FNHO) is scheduled to be held in Jaipur from 27th to 29th September this year. The conference is organized by the Indian Head and Neck Cancer Congress (IHNCC) to dicuss controversies around emergent procedures and reach consensus in treatment methods in the field of head and neck oncology.

Papers on topics such as induction chemotherapy evolving regimens and inclusion of targeted therapy; practical application of altered fractionation radiation therapy; surgical management of advanced tumor; best supportive care offer; consequences of delay in treatment of head and neck cancer etc will be presented during the conference.

According to the organizers, during the conference, orations on various key issues related to NHO will be held as well as surgical videos will be screened. The main orations will primarily focus on two topics “current status of robotic surgery in head and neck cancer” and "twelve steps to improve head and neck cancer outcomes from non-surgical management?”

Furthermore, state of science symposia on 'radiation/ medical oncology integrating anti-efgr therapy in head and neck cancer management' will also be organized. Some debates on controversial and ethical issues related to the topic will be on the agenda of the conference.

Another salient point of the conference include training and workshop sessions by experts and medical practitioner. There will be a training session on "how to write papers and get it published" to encourage the practitioners to become research oriented.

"The conference offers an extensive scientific programme of the highest standard with lectures presented by national and international experts. Symposia, panel discussions, plenary sessions and other presentations will be the backbone of the scientific programme," said Prof. Prakash Mishra, Organising Chairman of the conference.
