Jaipur's institutions to observe National Science Day
A two-day event is being organised at School of Basic Sciences of Manipal University, Jaipur, beginning from February 27 to mark the National Science Day celebrations.

On the first day, an event called "Vedic Mathematricks" is being organised to demonstrate how to do quick mathematical calculations using the tips explained in Sanskrit verses. On the next day competitive events on various aspects of science will be held.

Many colleges and Science Park with science streams in the city will be celebrating the event with talks, symposia, presentations and exhibitions as usual and remember the contribution of noted physicist and the Nobel Prize winner CV Raman. The notifications for the observance have been put up on the websites of various institutions of Jaipur.

The National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect on 28 February, 1928. In celebrating the National Science Day, students of the schools and colleges demonstrate various science projects and national and state science institutions demonstrate their latest researches.

Further, on this day, besides an Award Function in New Delhi, the celebration is marked by 'public speeches, radio-TV talk shows, science movies, science exhibitions based on themes and concepts, watching the night sky, live projects, research demonstration, debates, quiz competitions, lectures, science model exhibitions and many more activities'.
