Jaipur's Moti Dungri Ganesha temple decked up for Ganesh Chaturthi festival
The famous Ganesha Temple at Moti Dungari in Jaipur has been decked up for the Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebration on September 5. Devotees have started flocking the temple to offer Modaks of all sizes.

The main celebrations will be held on the fourth day of the first fortnight in the current month of Bhadrapada in the Hindu calendar.

The day is considered auspicious to offer prayers to Lord Ganesha so that the new activity that is started gets successfully completed without any obstacles or Vighna. In fact, in Jaipur, the festival celebrations will last for ten days, ending on the fourteenth day of the fortnight with Anant Chaturdashi festivities.

Many work places have also been done up to start new ventures on the main day of the festival. Also, the business of selling of clay images and idols of Lord Ganesha has also picked up which will be installed and worshipped with family and friends at homes. At the end of the festival, these idols will be immersed in the local water bodies.

Jaipurites believe that the Moti Dungri Temple of Lord Ganesha is endowed with divine power. Though the temple is flocked by the devotees, visitors and tourists throughout the year, but on Ganesh Chaturathi, devotees from many places throng the temple premises to have Darshana of the idol that is decorated with hundreds of big Modaks.

The preparation for making Modaks has begun since last ten days where around two hundred people are engaged day and night for it.

Moti Dungri Temple in Jaipur has a unique culture of offering such a huge quantity of Ladoo as prasad of Ganesha. It is said that every year, in all, at least 1.25 lakhs of Ladoos are offered to Ganesha.
