Making it clear that despite being political rivals Congress and Samajwadi Party should work..
UNION RURAL development minister Jairam Ramesh looked upset and perturbed while addressing the media in Lucknow on Saturday over the mass irregularities and fraudulent methods that were adopted by the government officials in the state of Uttar Pradesh during the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) rule to siphon off millions of rupees that were to be used for uplifting the life of rural people by giving employment to them in their villages.
Ramesh has asked Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to order a CBI enquiry into the scam, especially in the districts of Gonda, Balrampur and Sonebhadra where gross irregularities were found while awarding work during the Mayawati regime.Ramesh revealed many of the members of Parliament who often visit him, have made complaints to him regarding the poor quality of roads. He said he has asked the chief minister to assure that no compromise was made on the quality of roads and they should last long.Talking to the media, Ramesh said though the Congress and Samajwadi Party were both political rivals but that should not come in way of the development of the state. He said he had written umpteen times to the former chief minister Mayawati to initiate a CBI probe into the frauds that came to the fore in districts like Gonda, Balrampur, Sonebhadra in the MNREGA but she never responded in positive. “I would like to urge the young chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to give a go ahead to the CBI in the MNREGA scam that shook the nation and the state as well. There is also a need to meet frequently at regular intervals so that evaluation of work allotted in the government schemes could be done properly,” said Ramesh. He said that he has asked the chief minister to connect all district headquarters with all weather roads. “Some 44,000 kms of roads need to be constructed and state highways need to be strengthened and I have told the chief minister of all possible assistance from my side. We need to work together in this direction,” Ramesh informed.“We need to give a strong signal to the people involved in corrupt practices and that the government would not be going to tolerate any fraud. So while the CAG is busy in preparing its report on the scam, I feel we can’t wait till the report comes in, and so I will request the chief minister to order a CBI probe into the scam in at least three districts of Gonda, Balrampur and Sonebhadra when I will meet him,” said Ramesh.
Now that the govt has changed witch hunting will start Scams will be unearthed to showcase how the previous govt has taken the state to the bottom of the ocean And in the midst of these no actual work will happen Bengal to UP - all same story
