James De La Vega - a popular street artist in New York

Street art is popular in many parts of the world, especially in the US. James De La Vega is a well known street artist who draws many things quickly on the streets, which are well appreciated by all and sundry.

CREATIVITY DOESN'T have a particular definition. There are creative people all over the world in various fields of work. Some call musicians, artists, photographers, designers, etc creative, but one thing that tops it all has to be street artistry, which is gradually taking its shape all over the world. One such artist, James De La Vega has been known all across the streets of New York for his creative art, which can be basically found on the sidewalks.

In this amazing AFP video, the artist has a very cool look about himself. He is seen drawing on the streets along the sidewalks. People sometimes stand and observe his work and he just sits and sees these people appreciate his work, while some just walk over it. Such things are part of the art, says James De La Vega. Basically he is always seen with a cigar and a chalk in his hand, when he is making art on the streets.

He seems to be very passionate about his work. His work is well appreciated by many a people in the US and people on the street also recognise him, which means that he is more or less a well known figure for his talent. It is his love for the art that has helped him in improving and coming up with innovative pieces of art on the street. It has been 20 years that the artist has been involved in such kind of street art.

But, such kind of an art is not a common thing in India. There are no such artists in India, if we do, they are still unknown. It will take some more years for such artistry to come up in India, though people in the field of creativity have been doing decent work on the canvas, walls (graffiti) etc.
