James Taylor, 61 and Carole King, 67 started their solo careers in totally different streams. While Carole King was churning out hits as a songwriter like Will You Love Me Tomorrow, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and The Loco-Motion, James Taylor had been originally signef to the Apple Label of Beatles fame. Their performance at Troubadour Club gave them the fame which established their individual careers, going on to win nine Grammy awards between them.
Taylor said, "In a sense, we started our solo careers sharing a band, sharing a stage, we did a show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles that really sort of broke both of us out of the box and established our careers."
The idea for the Troubadour Reunion tour came after the pair gave six performances at the Troubadour Club in 2007 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The tour will also bring back members of the original band who played for them, including guitarist Danny Kortchmar, drummer Russ Kunkel and bassist Lee Sklar.
