Japan Earthquake, tsunami warning issued-latest updates
The latest news and updates: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck Japan's southern Ryukyu Isands Sunday Afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of casualities or damage.

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck Japan's southern Ryukyu Isands Sunday Afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey. However the Meteorological Agency said that the earthquake registered a magnitude of 6.6 on richter scale. The earthquake was centered 16 kilometers (10 miles) deep about 114 kms south - southwest of Ishigaki Island, about 200 kms east of Taiwan.
 
A tsunam warning has been issued for a number of small islands after the earthquake shook an area off Japan's southern coast.
 
Japan's NHK broadcaster issued a warning of a possible 50 centimeter (20 inch) tsunami in the southern Kyukyus.
 
The tsunami was expected to be about 1.6 feet high.
 
The quake hit 69 miles off the couthern coast of Miyakojima island, in Southern Japan at a dept of 6 miles.
 
The small island is about 1120 miles southwest of Tokyo.
 
There were no immediate reports of casualities or damage.
 
Japan is one of the world's most earthquake prone countries in the world and in the year 1995 a 7-2 magnitude earthquake in the western port city of Kobe killed 6400 people.
