JASON RODRIGUEZ, the suspected mass shooter of the Orlando shooting was arrested after 2 pm from his mother’s apartment at the intersection of Curry Ford Road and State Road 436.
The attack took place at about 11:50 am at Legions Place, where the shooter used a handgun killing one and injuring 5.
Rodriguez is believed to be a former employee of Reynolds Smith & Hills, which is an architectural engineering firm located on the 8th floor of the 1000 Legion’s place where the shootout took place.
Jason told reporters that they left him to rot and when asked if he was referring to his former employer he said, “No. No. I’m angry;”
Rodriguez was laid off a year and a half ago from his job at RS & H as part of firm cutbacks.
Rodriguez was not at all happy with the layoff and had even disgruntled comments when he left the firm but no one imagined him to resort to violence.
RS & H has around 11 offices across Florida including in DeLand, Merrit Island and Tampa. Records show that Rodrigues had filed for bankruptcy in Orlando in September. It is believed that a background check was also done but no criminal record was found against him.
Records only showed that he was divorced in October 2006 and had 2 children, one son and a daughter who live in Puerto Rico
