Jaswant Singh spills the beans
In some astounding statements recently and with excerpts from his much controversial book jaswant singh has led the nation to stories behind the stories...
BJP's Chintan Baithak in Shimla has concluded with little to be inferred by the public or media. Carried out in secrecy, the Baithak resulted in the sacking of former external affairs minister Jaswant Singh from membership of the party. Party president Rajnath Singh tabled the news for everyone in the country. The party leaders have justified their action to expel Jaswant Singh for his book, in which he contradicts BJP's ideology in praise of Jinnah. Jaswant Singh has not been apologetic and instead he has started spilling the beans over the party's recent history much to the shock of the nation.

Jaswant Singh claimed in a recent interview to a TV channel that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was on the brink of resigning after the Gujarat riots. He was so deeply disturbed due to what had happened and wanted to take action against Narendra Modi but was stopped from doing so by LK Advani on account that it should have caused commotion in the party.

Also, Singh claimed that he covered for LK Advani during the Kandahar hijacking episode in 1999. Contrary to what he said before, Jaswant singh now claimed that Advani was aware that he was headed to Kandahar with three dreaded terrorists on a plane. When asked why did he cover up then then, Singh replied that it was due to his sense of commitment and loyalty that he did so.

These statements by Jaswant Singh have given an insight into many incidents within the BJP that had been brushed under the carpet and one feels this might not be the end. As the party tries to gather its focus and work for a better tomorrow, its the past that might come to haunt them. The expulsion of Jaswant singh was a strong step but was it the right one, yet remains to be seen.
