JD(U) Chief Sharad Yadav who was on his way to Allahabad to take part in an anti-reservation rally was detained at by the Uttar Pradesh police. After which the renowned politician was brought to the PWD guest house and arrangements were made to send him back to the national capital.
The JD(U) Supremo said that he had promised youths that he would meet them before his visit to Jabalpur on 18th September and was hence going to Allahabad. However the police showed up at the railway station with a warrant and stopped him. Sharad Yadav said, “I had an important meeting with the youngsters, they were coming to my residence from two three days, so I promised them that I will meet them before going to Jabalpur,” reported nnis.
“I had to go to Jabalpur on 18th September, the police showed me the warrant and stopped me here.” Yadav said that he was going to the location with the message of peace, and would have restored peace in the area. He added that the government has received wrong information about him. “I have been a fighter throughout my life, so this is also a part of contention. I would have established peace,” said Mr. Yadav.
IPC section 144 has been levied on Uttar Pradesh and hence as a precautionary measure, Yadav was stopped from visiting Allahabad. Yadav also wanted to visit the family of the unfortunate journalist who was killed in the Muzaffarnagar riots.
