Sharad Yadav said issues such as bringing the black money back to India from Swiss banks, corruption, giving a proper representation to women in the Parliament for which the party primarily focused on the women's reservation bill, etc., were raised by their party first in the Parliament and for which the party did struggle a lot from the House to the streets of this nation, but some people are trying now to hijack these issues. He called on the party workers to work hard in their respective areas and make people aware of the programmes and policies of the Janta Dal United so that they can understand better whom to choose in the next elections which are round the corner in Uttar Pradesh.
“About 75 percent of the people in India live in villages and they are economically backward, then how can one imagine of making the nation stronger without making that 75 percent of the population economically self-reliant and independent. We need to empower the people living in villages as dreamt by Mahatma Gandhi and Jaiprakash Narain. It is also unfortunate to see that today India stands aloof in this world because of the faulty policies adopted by the Congress. Earlier, there was USSR, which was our strong friend and an ally at the international level but today there is no one on whom India can really rely upon,” said Sharad Yadav.
National president of the party’s youth wing Shailendra Yadav said the awareness campaign that was initiated by the party would enlighten the people of state about the developments and achievement that have created records in Bihar under the dynamic leadership of Nitish Kumar, and the youth wing will organize many more such campaigns all across India in order to reach as many people possible. This would help the party in making a direct contact with the people present at the grass-root level. The party would also form “Rachna Vahini” as desired and dreamt by Jaiprakash Narain at village level in order to ensure that basic civic amenities and facilities like primary education, health and safety besides opportunities of employment reach upto the last man on this earth.
Among the others who spoke on the occasion include party’s senior vice-president and ex-MP K C Tyagi, state general secretary Subhash Pathak, general secretary legal cell Raju Bakshi, Dr Sita Rai, Pradeep Srivastava, and Arun Srivastava, etc.
