JDU to contest alone in Uttar Pradesh polls
After the differences emerged between the two National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Uttar Pradesh i.e. the B.J.P and the JD(U) over seat sharing, the JDU has decided to field its candidates on all the assembly seats in UP.

THE NATIONAL president of Janta Dal United, Sharad Yadav, has made it loud and clear that his party would contest on all 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh after the NDA ally, BJP failed in reaching some sort of seat sharing formula with the JDU. The inclusion of tainted leaders from BSP into the party hurt the JDU and this decision is seen against that backdrop.

Sharad Yadav who arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday, while addressing the party workers and would be candidates at the party’s head office, said there was a ‘loot’ going on in the Centre and in the state as well. People have been fed up now with the corrupt ministers. He urged the workers to reach out to every voter in their respective area and apprise them of the good governance that their party had in the state of Bihar.

Sharad Yadav said the status of the party has reduced now to regional level and they need to bring back the national status of the party in the upcoming elections. JDU leader CRP Singh said the entire Bihar unit was ready to lend their support and help to the candidates here. He said the party would support honest candidates and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would also come to campaign for the party.

State president Suresh Niranjan ‘Bhaiyyaji’ also asked the party workers to pull up their socks as there was hardly any time left for the polls. “We have little time and have to do lot of things. So we need to hurry up and all workers must start visiting their areas in order to establish a communication with the electorate. The candidates must listen to the problems and grievances of the electorate in their areas and must assure them of solving the same at the earliest,” said Suresh Niranjan ‘Bhaiyyaji. The party is expected to disclose the list of its remaining candidates by Thursday.
