Jeetendra iconic and stylish at 71
Jeetendra's iconic dance moves and his all white apparel would make headlines during his times. At a time when to be with the norm was a safe bet for all actors, Ravi Kapoor, the man who later turned into Jeetendra made his own choices.

He not only went original in his dressing style and dance moves but was also made Southern remakes in Hindi that went on to become his signatures movies. Himmatwala, Jaani Dushman and Tohfa were some of his iconic films.

Called as the 'jumping jack,' in the film industry, Jeetendra was born on April 7, 1942 to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor. He started his film career with V Santaram's Navrang but it was not until Geet Gaya Patharon Ne, also of V Shantaram, that he attained stardom. Farz was also one of the many hits that Jeetendra produced in his career apart from Justice Chaudhary, Tohfa and the like.

He became a style icon of his time and even now we can only see Jeetendra and Sridevi dancing to 'Ta Thaiya Ta Thaiya' from Himmatwala. Jaya Prada and Sridevi were the two leading ladies with whom he had one hit after the other.

Besides these commercial successes, he also had huge hits in the form of Parichay, where he played a teacher to very naughty kids, Kinara and Khusboo. He knew Vinod Khanna from his school days and it was said that both the actors helped each other out in their struggling days. Till date they remain best pals. At one point in his life, there were rumors of him dating Hema Malini but those soon died down after he married Shobha Kapoor. Now he is the chairperson of Balaji Telefilms and still actively takes part in films made by his production house.

As a birthday present and on completion of 50 years of his life in the film industry both his children are gifting him with a unique present. For the occasion, they are making a documentary based on Jeetendra's life. Ekta Kapoor, who herself is a successful director and producer of television serials and films, feels that Jeetendra has not got his due from the film industry and with this documentary, she would able to show the world another side of the great actor.
