As per reports, Sharma voluntarily surrendered around noon on Tuesday, November 10, before the Tihar administration, despite no decision had been taken to cancel his parole by the authorities. He is serving a life term there for Jessica Lal's murder.
MANU SHARMA, convicted for his role in the high profile Jessica Lal murder case, has surrendered to the police and voluntarily returned to Tihar jail, after a controversy erupted over his alleged partying in Delhi night clubs while, he was out of jail on parole.
As per reports, Sharma voluntarily surrendered around noon on Tuesday, November 10, before the Tihar administration, despite no decision had been taken to cancel his parole by the authorities. He has been convicted for the murder of Jessica Lall in 1999 and is serving life term for the crime.
Sharma had been given parole ostensibly, to take care of his ailing mother and his parole was even extended, on the recommendation of Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit to Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna.
Controversy over his parole broke after Sharma was spotted partying in two New Delhi five star hotels. The Delhi government has been severely criticised for granting parole of Sharma, who is son of a senior Congress leader from Haryana.
