A story on personal and professional life of Jessica Shepherd who is an emerging star in Texas and Americana Music.

THE ENTERTAINMENT industry in the USA is undergoing a transformation because the people are bored with the usual music from the conglomerates. The internet as well as word of mouth has helped the transformation in the enteratainment industry. The state of Texas leads in the revolution against mediocre mainstream music.

Jessica Shepherd has been one of the most significant leaders in the musical revolution with her gutsy way of singing. She has also been at the forefront for her humanitarian gestures in her home state which deserve a prompt mention. She was born and raised in Texas and is currently living in Austin.

Jessica Shepherd recently recorded three albums such as "You're Country Now", "Travellingirl" and "The Rockin Gospel Project". She has been nominated for the 2010 Texas Music Awards under the best female vocalist for her album "You're Country Now".

The songs in her latest album have been written with care and exude confidence in one self. One of my favourite song from the album is "God By Your Side" which makes me think about the beautiful things in life such as family, friends, and nature.

The Song "Do Your Damn Job" is a call for the people who are not responsible enough in their work and life and asks them to acquire it, Jessica Shepherd is not only a musician and a celebrity for namesake. She has also worked for the elderly community in America.

Jessica Shepherd has a musical therapy program for the people who are under Assisted Living Facilities in Texas. It consists of helping the elderly regain some memories with music from the 1920's to the 1950's. She created the program taking into account that Assisted Living Facilities [ALF’s] patients need help and are short of money to pay for entertainment by various artists.

The therapy also helps reconnect the pathways of the brain so that the elderly and their families can feel better. It was a success among the majority cases of Assisted Living Facilities.

Jessica Shepherd is also a music teacher. She once worked as a Senior Voice Instructor for Beinhorn School at Houston, Texas before developing her own style of teaching. It consists of teaching contemporary style singing for those who want to become professional vocalists or just want to sing in order to improve their health.

She has also been a part of a project with a purpose to give way to the spiritual flame that has been lacking in the people of the United States of America. The project is called the "Rockin Gospel Project" and is conducted at Maria's Taco XPress which is a restaurant in Austin Texas.

Jessica Shepherd's fan following stretches to places as far as Florida and Australia for her musical and humanitarian contribution. Lucky Boyd of My Texas Music has called Jessica Shepherd "Inimitable", but I have another name for her.

I have decided that Jessica Shepherd deserves the title of "The First Lady of Texas and Americana Music" for her music and humanitarian gestures which makes the world a better place to live. I wish her the best now and always in her endeavours regardless of whether or not she wins the 2010 Texas Music Awards for the best female vocalist.
