The five day long Jet pilots strike was finally called off, after a ten hour long negotiation with the Jet airways management. As a result, the four sacked pilots were taken back. Flight operations would be back to normal by Sunday noon.
AFTER A long five day strike with losses for both passengers and the airlines due to ticket cancellation, the Jet Airways Management solved the problem by taking back the four sacked pilots and creating a consultation group.
The action was taken after a ten hour long meeting where all the problems of the pilots were resolved. The Jet Airways Director, Saroj Dutta said that the flight operations of international routes would be resumed immediately while the domestic service would be normalised by noon on Sunday.
The airline lost a whopping amount of eight million dollars daily due to this strike and the number of passengers came down to 7500 on a daily basis from the routine figure of 23000 per day. The registrar of the trade union is still reviewing the NAG registration and if it goes against pilots they will not pursue it.
