Jio wishes "Happy Valentine's Day" to Airtel, Vodafone and Idea; Anil Ambani's Reliance Mobile not tagged
New entrant in India's telecom sector, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio has wished 'Happy Valentine's Day' to competitors Airtel, Vodafone India, and Ideal cellular.

Reliance Jio extended the Valentine's Day greetings to Airtel and others while tagging all of them in one single tweet while using #WithLoveFromJio hashtag. However, Mukesh's younger brother's Reliance Mobile was not tagged in the tweet.

Notably, the veteran telecom players are in a battle with Reliance Jio over its freebies. Jio is offering free voice calls and 4G data to its subscribers till March 2017 under 'Happy New Year' offer. Earlier, the freebies were available till December 2016 under Jio's 'Welcome' offer which was launched on September 5, 2016.

Jio's freebies have caused a significant revenue loss to veteran market players as telecom subscribers have either completely switched their loyalty or got an additional Jio SIM along with the existing one for making calls and to use mobile internet.

Airtel, Vodafone and Idea had lodged a complaint with telecom watchdog TRAI and Department of Telecommunication against Reliance Jio's offer of free voice call and 4G data. However, TRAI ruled in the favour of Jio.

Reliance Jio had also complained against the major telecom service providers regarding the points of interconnection (PoI) issue. The top telecom service provider Airtle had responded to the Jio's complaint saying that Jio's calls are failing to go through because of glitches on the new entrant's network.
