JAMMU JUSTICE Movement (JJM), which is demanding setting up of the central university in Jammu continued its protest in the GGM Science College by boycotting the classes, while the indefinite dharna initiated by it entered the second day outside the Shahidi Sthal.
JJM activists also burnt the effigy of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah near Shahidi Sthal.
JJM also organised a meeting of the prominent citizens and various organisations of Jammu to sensitise the masses about the plan of shifting of the Central University to Kashmir at the Central Mahajan Sabha Jammu. In this meeting, representatives of more than 25 organisations participated.
The gathering was also addressed by various senior leaders Ashok Khajuria MLA, BJP, who assured unconditional support to the movement. Udhay Chand of Duggar Pradesh party while giving full support to the movement to restore the Central University at Jammu urged the masses to go for the final assault to end the discrimination against Jammu once for all.
Kuldeep Raina, General Secretary of Panun Kashmir, while assuring full support to the movement said that shifting of Central University to Kashmir has added another black chapter in the history of discrimination towards Jammu.
The various organisations which attended the meeting and extended full support to JJM for Central University included Duggar Pradesh Party, Panun Kashmir, BJP, Bar Association Jammu, JK Trade Union Congress, SASS, Rajput Sabha, Kranti Dal and Dogra Brahman Sabha.
Deedar Singh (Trade Union Association), Sr. vice-president assured full support and asked to take all students together.
The proceeding’s were conducted by Mahesh Kaul, spokesperson, and the welcome address was given by Ranjeet Sharma, general secretary JJM; the vote of thanks was delivered by Pushvinder Singh Manhas, president (JJM), the meeting was chaired by Sunil Sharma, Chairman JJM.
