J&K Children's Welfare Society to rebuild Leh victims lives
Chairman J&K Children's Welfare Society said that a two members' team which was deputed to assess the loss are camping at Leh and has provided them with first hand information regarding the plight of people.
S. GURDEEP SINGH Sasan, Chairman J&K Children’s Welfare Society, addressing a press conference expressed solidarity and whole hearted support to the victims of Leh natural calamity. He said that their hearts and mind are with the calamity struck brothers and sisters who faced the brunt of such a big trauma.



He assured the victims that the society will spare no stone unturned in extending their full cooperation for rehabilitation of the sufferers. He further said that the society will always stand with them in mitigating their problems.

He also added that a two members' team which was deputed to assess the loss are camping in Leh and has provided them with first hand information regarding the plight of people. Keeping in view the requirement of the people, the society is dispatching one truck full loaded with quilts to Leh, which will be handed over to DC Leh for distribution among the needy.


Sasan urged the administration to make sure that the destroyed houses are constructed before the onset of winter. He further urged the Central government to enhance the rehabilitation package and also make sure that the relief is distributed properly among the genuine people. He further urged the government to immediately identity the orphans and open an orphanage home.


On this occasion Sasan announced that the children's welfare society has adopted four girl children for education purpose and society will bear their educational expenditure.

 
He said that the society is sending one hundred and thirty cheques of rupees five hundred each to DC Leh for distributing them to the identified children they are Baby Kunzang Chuskit D/o Late Tushgar Phanter R/o Choglamsar Meru, Baby Patma Yangdol D/o Late Tashighyason R/o Choglamsar Meru, Amina Banu D/o Late Mohd. Asaq R/o Nubra and Padma Yangdol D/o Late Tasigyalson R/o Diskit Nubra.


Later Ajay Sadhotra, MLC and former Minister, who was the chief guest on the occasion flagged off the relief material for Leh in presence of Thakur Rashpal Singh MLA and Vice-Chairman Kissan Welfare and Development Board, Jammu and Kashmir.

Other prominent people who were present on the occasion included Dr. K.S. Kotwal, Rampal, Brij Mohan Sharma, Laxmi Datta, Dr. A.D. Singh, Dr. Sarabjeet Singh, Capt. Pritpal Singh, Sunil Gupta, S. Gagandeep Singh, Jagpal Singh, Samarjit Singh, Surinder Singh (Adv.) and Kashmir Singh.
