But Omar Abdullah, who unfortunately, is a duly elected J&K CM, came out openly on March 6, 2014 itself and requested UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to reverse the decision of his Government and not to book the 66 anti-national students for sedition charges.
As the news reports are coming, these students have not been arrested and have been allowed to escape to a safer zone. This is nothing but dirty politics, clearly in violation of the Model Election Code of Conduct.
The problem is that all so called "secular" politicians are playing this dirty politics to secure their vote banks and minority community seems very happy with this politics of appeasement. The credentials of Samajwadi Party led UP Government, are already doubtful.
However, Omar Abdullah probably thinks, that Model Election Code of Conduct is not applicable to him and he advocated shamelessly in favor of these anti-national students and gone a step further in requesting the UP's CM.
Now the big question is whether this shameful statement of Omar Abdullah, is not a clear violation of Model Election Code of Conduct, where, he is clearly trying to influence the voters of his constituency, a head of the Lok Sabha Elections?
If this is true, then the next big question is whether Election Commission will take any "strict" enough action against Omar Abdullah so that no other politician can play with the security, pride and integrity of the country for his petty political gains?
