JNU: An oasis for Maoists and Naxalites!
Jawaharlal Nehru University has been a progressive and inclusive campus, but in recent years all public space is taken over by Naxalites-Maoists and their supporters. In name of communist agenda they openly perform anti-Indian activities.

NAXALITES, THE most deadly terrorists of our time have staunch supporters in India’s most famous university Jawahar Lal Nehru University. Though these pro-Maoist students are a small section of student community, but they manage to express their viewpoint very widely as they get very strong support from media, administration and political leaders.

They also get support of some students vouching for caste based politics, their small numbers get presented in a big way in media as they are well known to media houses. All this supports is exploited by them when it comes to defend the killings of poor Adivasis and poor security personnel who thrive their families on mere few thousands of salaries.

These Maoist-Naxalites students’ wings are comprised of two main organizations: AISA (All India Student Associations) and DSU (Democratic Students Union). AISA says, ‘Naxalbari lal Salam’ (Naxalbari Red Salute) while DSU says, ‘Naxalbari ek Hi Rasta’ (Naxalbari the only way). This is the reason they are well known as Naxalites among common students. Most of the time they are supporters of each other and often they violently oppose nationalist student organizations like YFE (Youth For Equality), AVBP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad), NSUI (National Student Union of India).

The barbaric killing of 76 CRPF personnel was mourned by YFE, ABVP and NSUI. YFE is still lighting candles in each hostel to pay homage to the souls of our security forces, who died for our national integrity. However, Dantewara attack was vindicated by DSU and AISA and a celebration was organized in form of a movie show on the next night. It was an open support to naxalites, this act irked most of the students and the programmed was opposed. Due to large participation in anti-naxalite procession AISA came with mild words against the ‘killings’ still their pamphlet was more against government and less against killer Maoists.

It is strange to see that AISA and DSU, openly support Maoists and Islamic Terrorists, SAR Gilani and all possible insurgents from North East. Maoist poets and thinkers are openly called and honoured by them within JNU premises and JNU administration silently support such acts. The Batla House encounter was held ‘fake’ by DSU and AISA, Kashmiri separatists are praised by them… but still with administration’s passive support they are able to retain JNUSU funds, offices for three years. The various clubs are also with them and administration has still to say anything on fund’s misappropriation by these naxalites.

Despite memorandums, letters to VC, requests and warnings by YFE, ABVP, NSUI and many common students, these Maoists are performing well and smoothly with JNU administration’s permissive attitude towards them.

The deadliest attack of Dantewara is not just an attack against India but also a hideous act against human rights. All concerned students have formed an organization to combat the naxal menace in JNU campus in name of ‘Student Against Naxalism’. On 11th April a huge solidarity march was organized by Student Against Naxalim, and they are also called a protest against administration on 12th April for allowing Naxalites activities in campus.

The presence of Naxalites in campus has not only promoted anti-national environment but also spread bitter division among students on caste and religion lines. The divisive students group are trapped by these naxalites on some caste issues but implicated that support for their main business of Naxal terrorism.

No doubt, JNU provideds a good opportunity for higher studies for the socially marganilised sections of India, but it's soft corner for the Naxalaties is a big threat for India. JNU life is very similar to Tribal Life. Drink, Alcohal and SEX... The only difference is that the students have easy access to branded condoms at Ganga Dhaba. Its time to educate the Indian tribals, provide them access to earnings, good life rather than giving them arms and slogan like Naxalbari Ek Hi Rasta...!!! Let the Govt projects reach to them..

it will always hurt the nationalists like you. jnu will be a place for aisa, sfi, dsu and other groups.

@anonymous I think your baseless comment suffices that you are one the delusional people who cry foul without any though behind their claim! Your comment shows the same, you have not put forward any research or logic to back your comments. We all know JNU has been invoked in separatist leftist movements and supporting other anti-national movements such as Islamists for Kashmir. You beat and Dhol and cry out loud "Kranti Ayegi" ,beat some drums and wave red flags, but majority despise your ideology its a fact, you are losing all the political ground you had, and an evidence of your rout. KUDOS AMIT SRIVASTVA for writing such though provoking article.

first of all the pro-maoist comment on this article seems that they are thinking only Hindutva or RSS backed forces r opposing Maoism or Naxalism......it is a big confusion in their minds...NSUI equally opposes this barbarism, if there was genocide in Gujarat or elsewhere in India or state repression or killing, is killing poor adavasis, women, children, beheading farmers n CRPF jawans, blowing railway tracks, school n hospital buildings is the solution to the problems...India is a democratic Nation....all atrocoties should be fought constitutionally n democratically against the state....voilent methods always lead to anarchism n destabilization of the Nation. if that is ur goal then u continue with ur way n we will continue with ours.

This article is a pack of lies. The programme at JNU was not a 'celebration' of the Dantewada killing - it was fixed long before that incident and it was a programme calling for an end to the Green Hunt war and steps towards peace. The AISA website has a statement issued immediately after Dantewada incident, deploring the killing of jawans as well as innocent adivasis in a war that is primarily to protect corporate interests. AISAhas condemned every occasion of mindless Maoist violence. Who but the RSS celebrates massacres? Every year RSS celebrates the anniversary of 6 December 1992 as ??Shaurya Diwas.? Modi's henchmen on the Tehelka tapes gloated over the barbaric killings of Musims at Gujarat. According to the writer, anyone who opposes Operation Green Hunt is an ??anti-national? and a ??Maoist supporter.? If one accepts this thesis, we are faced with a hilarious and ridiculous situation. BJP??s alliance partners Nitish Kumar and Shibu Soren strategically distanced themselves from Green Hunt by absenting themselves from a CMs?? meeting to discuss anti-Maoist strategy. Soren even said ??Maoists are my brothers and sisters? while Nitish Kumar has recently said that a military solution to the ??Maoist problem? is not viable. Is ABVP ready to go and attack Soren and Nitish?! Why is BJP in alliance with ??anti-nationals?? As for violence, it is the ABVP that killed Prof Sabarwal and has attacked women for wearing jeans and celebrating Valentine's Day.

The article as an outsiders' view has provided certain ice-breaking facts on the leftist atrocities in the campus. To add a few more, the consistent effort by the desperate ultra-left groups to alienate the idea of India, they have determined to form the brotherhood of who oppose India. The leftist ideas are being imposed from the structural level in this campus. Students who do not subscribe to their ideas are deliberately sidelined and given the ready-made tags like class-enemies, goons, lumpen...etc.. the video coverages of the public student debates is among the few testimonies for the manner in which student-heaped leftists has provoked the outnumbering non-left students and pull them into the clash and comfortably at the end accuse the numerical minority themselves as accountable to the clash. Thus, non-left subscribers find current whenever there is a non-left platform to give them their space. The largest protest on the night of 11/04/10 on a nationalist platform is a testimony of the restricted feelings in the campus. In the near future, the scientists who observe events in the campus on a non-participant mode may come out without surprise with plenty of literatures on the manner leftism works in the campus. If the recent news lights upon certain groups that exists in the campus, which overtly and covertly propagates anti-India sentiments by saying that the Batla encounter is an attempt to kill the commendable police officer by certain ruling parties themselves and the 26/11 is an orchestrated attempt by the Indian state and congress-BJP plan to achieve their own interests...etc, than it is the voice of the oppressed non-left to tear the face of totalitarian leftism. Thus the leftism fails to identify a stinking ground to breed a revolution just through the fabricated ideas.

naxalism as on date has become the gravest threat to the internal security of the nation... and it being nurtured in prestigious institutions like jnu is a larger menace which must be controlled at its nascent stage... we should report it to police authorities...

This article is crap though some good points have been raised (such as the sympathy of some student groups towards Naxals). There are many errors here. JNU is not India's "most famous university" as this guy says (it is debatable which university, if any, can have that tag)! It is not "Jawaharlal university" as well. No media houses promote them (he should have given links to prove his claim; in fact media is denouncing it). The writers seems confused and doesn??t seem clear about what he wants to say! Yes this killing was barbaric and so was the genocide in Gujarat but many including Amit will not say a word on that! ??Islamic terrorist SAR Geelani? has been declared not guilty by the Supreme court of India. Mr. Amit should read some newspapers before making such claims. Also ??Islamic terrorist? the phrase is very debatable and should not be used (editors please note before it leads to some controversy in the campus and here). I request the editors to remove this phrase here and teach some writing etiquette (along with grammar lessons) to this guy. Batla house case has been shattered by recent RTI revelations on post mortem; the whole world knows that except Amit. This guy is just throwing ideas randomly without having anything concrete to say. He has a reputation in the campus due to which nobody takes him seriously. Amit has a lot of info on naxalites in campus; he should dial 100 and inform the Delhi police immediately. Naxalism has no relation to caste and religious divisions in the campus! This guy is really funny! He should write in Hindi or get some editorial assistance here.
