At a press conference today in the U.S. Capitol, surrounded by constituents from the 16th Congressional District of Ohio, John Boccieri said, It is clear the 16th District of Ohio agrees on the need for health insurance reform. He added, "My vote must be about saving money for people in our district and reducing costs."
Boccieri was one of 39 House Democrats to vote against health care legislation that narrowly passed the House in November. Boccieri is the fourth congressman to flip from no to yes on health care bill. According to Congressional Budget Office, the final version of the Democrats' healthcare bill will cut the federal deficit by $138bn over 10 years. The non-partisan body said the proposed legislation would cost about $940bn over a decade.
