Joint family system is an asset to Indian society
As I belong to a joint family, I really feel that this system is an asset to the Indian society. Now the question comes, why is it so? In my opinion, one can truly balance life if one is influenced by both ancient and modern traditions.
GONE ARE those days, when a whole bunch of people used to live under one roof as a joint family, which formed the fulcrum of the society. Now, as our generation has become more advanced and modern, they consider that distance brings them closer. With increasing crime in the society, joint families also help in ensuring that family members are more secure by providing comfort to each other. The presence of elders as well as other relations also help children to learn social skills. Earlier, when there were more joint families in India there were less cases of divorces and separations in the family. I really feel myself blessed that I belong to a joint family because I always have someone with me. I can feel the culture of four different generations blend together in my home. That is the reason I truly think that joint family system is an asset or rather a boon not only to Indian society but also to its culture.
I am from Pakistan , and I like joint family system , but as you can understand the time keeps changing, now children need more freedom ...what i think is that joint family system must adopt some modern culture , like giving everyone chance to speak before taking any decision , no force on marrying in same community , children who are studying they must be handled carefully if there examinations or tests are going on..etc etc
The joint family system was destroyed by the industries and corporates. Now they are using feminists to destroy the nuclear family as well with empowering women and making them play a conflicting role with men.
