Journalist attacked in Delhi by an unidentified person; in critical condition with head injuries
A Delhi-based freelance journalist was attacked by an unidentified person at a public park in northwest Delhi's Ashok Vihar on Wednesday evening.

Aparna Kalra, 45, is currently admitted in Fortis Hospital and is being reported to be in a critical condition.

The incident took place around 6 pm on Wednesday evening when she had gone out for an evening stroll at a park near her home. However, at 7.30 pm Kalra's family received a call from the police that she had been admitted to Deep Chand Hospital.

Kalra suffered multiple brain injuries in the attack. As per reports, she gained consciousness briefly on Wednesday night, but fell unconscious soon afterwards. It was during this brief period of consciousness that she managed to tell the police that she was attacked.

Considering the grave nature of her injuries, she was later shifted to Fortis hospital.

The police have registered a case of attempt to murder but are yet to ascertain the identity of the attacker or the reason for the attack.

The police have said that as of now, no eyewitnesses have come forward. Her family members are also clueless about any possible motive for the murder.
