JPPF pays tributes to Uri martyrs, seeks action against Pakistan
To pay rich tributes to the departed souls of soldiers martyred in the Pakistan sponsored Fidayeen attack on the Army Base Camp Uri, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) organised a protest-cum-tribute to martyrs at Maharaja Hari Singh statue Tawi Bridge, here.
The programme was largely attended by the members of the JPPF besides civil society including religious and social organisations, traders, NGOs, intellectuals, legal fraternity and the members of rural suburbs.

Speaking on the occasion, President JPPF, Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj condemned Pakistan sponsored Fidayeen attack on the military base camp at Uri which left 18 Jawans martyred besides 25 grievously injured.

He accused Pakistan for waging a proxy war against India to destabilise its secular character by creating disturbances on communal lines and is openly encouraging militancy and communal tension in Kashmir Valley which has even been extended to the parts of Jammu province.

He urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give a befitting reply to Pakistan for its heinous act against humanity in general and against India in particular.

He said that Pakistan is like a brat, which cannot be tamed at any cost and must be punished severely to make it realize.

Paying rich tributes to the martyred soldiers, Bhardwaj said that Jammu has also suffered the loss of precious of its two sons namely Hav Ravi Paul of Ramgarh, Samba and Sub Kairnail Singh of Bishanh Jammu and added that their supreme sacrifices would always be remembered.

He said that entire India was in grief and stands by the bereaved families. Two minutes silence was observed for eternal peace to departed souls with prayer to almighty for bestowing courage to bereaved families to bear irreparable loss.

Mentioning about the spread of unrest and violence in the otherwise peaceful areas of Jammu at Rajourli, JPPF president said that the government should take immediate and stringent actions to contain the unrest and violence, which is the handiwork of handful of miscreants belonging to majority community engineered on communal lines and openly supported by Pakistan.

He stressed on the government to provide adequate protection and security to the Hindus who are in minority and living under constant fear of more attacks. He said that peace and harmony is to be maintained at all costs to maintain secular character, besides to stop the migration of Hindus.

He demanded immediate arrest of culprits, who openly and selectively burnt the business establishments belonging to Hindu community in the town to create terror among the community, besides adequate compensation and immediate relief to the victims.
