Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan's son to go the known way?

The fact that Junaid Khan would be directing his father's upcoming movie has sparked a lot of interest in the boy who was almost obscure and has suddenly come to attention. So, will he take the familiar path of assistant director to actor or will he make his own way?

EVERY FILM student dreams to be the assistant of Rajkumar Hirani but very few actually get the chance. It does indeed need a silver spoon to be included in that category or so it seems. Thus, the news that Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan's 17-year-old son got such an opportunity was not that hard to digest. How well he will fare, and does this mean that he will not appear in front of the camera as the leading man? Well, as history suggests, initially, almost all star kids do get into assistant directing so that they get a better understanding of the camera and then face the camera. Will Junaid go in that direction is a question that's too early to have an answer anytime soon.

As reported in India Today, Papa Aamir Khan was taken aback with his young son's wish but has conceded. However, it was Rajkumar Hirani who first noticed the boy's aptitude for details and cinematic awareness. Thus, with this knowledge in mind, the master director wanted Junaid to learn the ropes of the craft more intensely and what better way then to assist in a project where Aamir Khan with Anushka Sharman would be in front of the camera. Junaid has already started looking for locations for the film that has been named as 'Peekay.'

Some of the famous other names who were directors but actually got into acting are as follows. Our very own Ranbir Kapoor was assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the famous movie Black. After that Bhansali was the also the director to give him his break with Saawariya. Very recently it was heard that Govinda's daughter wants to be an actor but it was Govinda's wish that her daughter should assist someone in the industry so that she understands filmmaking. Zoa Morani, who assisted in famous films such as Om Shanti Om and Halla Bol actually wanted to be in front of the camera and finally she debuted with SRK's 'Always Kabhi Kabhi' (2011), and has now been signed by Shyam Benegal for his next movie. If we look closely we would find innumerable examples of star kids getting into directing to eventually be an actor. Let's see if Junaid follows the already trodden path or makes his own way.
