Kala Ghoda Festival will center around the theme of change
The Kala Ghoda Art Festival this year starts from February 2 and will last till the end of the week. Built around the theme of change, the festival will hold special joys for children. Workshops in science, literature, cinema, mathematics and robotics will be the major attractions of the event. Nuriya Rao, curator of children's activities at the festival, said, 'We decided to expand the activities for children this year, and move beyond the usual fare of arts and crafts workshops.'
Apart from these, the other attractions of the event are the heritage walk with archaeologist Shraddha Bhatawadekar, walk across Mumbai GPO, which is the biggest Post office in the country, performance of Salim Sualeiman on 10 February and a number of films will be screened on the occasion.
For those who have heard about the Kala Ghoda Art festival for the first time- it is an annual festival held in late January and early February for around nine days in Kala Ghoda area of South Mumbai. It is a festival that has dance, music, visual arts, theater, cinema, literature and special events for children apart from other activities.
The nine-day festival is expected to see over a lakh visitors and stalls by non-profit organizations.
