Kambakht Ishq: Complete trash
Another asinine film from Bollywood. When will things change in the world of popular Hindi cinema? Akshay and Kareena have earned the honour of starring in the first box office disaster since the diagreement between the producers and the PVR owners
PARDON ME if my review does not read like a normal review but then never before has such an asinine movie been unleashed on the public. I would have shared the story had there been one. There is some absurd thing about Kareena, the surgeon, leaving her watch inside the patient’s (Akshay’s) stomach and then trying to lure him back to the operating theatre…Jai Ho! Script writing and direction in Bollywood just made new lows.
This is my advice: Don’t go to see this film even if you are paid to do so.

This film will surely be the final blow to Akshay Kumar’s near dead career. As for Bebo (Kareena), how desperate does one have to be to sign on for this film?
Supporting cast: What and who were they supporting?
Boman Irani, Kiran Kher, Amrita Arora, Javed Jaffery are all in the movie for some inexplicable reason known only to the director (Sabbir Khan) and /or producer (Sajid Nadiadwala).
The recession must have hit Hollywood really hard for Denise Richards and Sylvestor Stallone to take on the buffonery that has been heaped upon them in this film.
PS: Expect some protests from Hindu groups for the way an important mantra has been misused in this film. A total dishonour. Sabbir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala must answer why they decided to use a Hindu mantra in such a crass way.

The initial booking were high because of star cast and high expectations...........also the movie draught earlier ensured it would be totally booked but since then the audience has been thinning......

As far as the actors work is concerned, yes its nonexistent but it doesn't mean akshay is a bad actor as its the directors and the script that lets him down always in this movie nd in recent movies of his. Common thing among all these directors, they take the priyadarshan route tht ws responsible for akshay's comedy and they fail always. Wht you end up is akshay not knowing wher to go nd he just tries his best nd end up being a clown nd that's akshay's exact quote frm him(indiafm interview of KI success bash).
You can't blame akshay or his career since tht's his choice, nd its up to us audiences to not waste money if the movie is bad. So far the only concern for KI's team is the money, and as the actors themselves said money speaks more about the film's success and thts most important. So if the team is concerned about the money, you can't blame them as who doesn't like the moolah more than pepul like the movie or not.

cooldude ,all the cast of this film are great actors,including Aftab but in this case got let down by a bad script and even wors direction.All Aftab has to do is make beter choices of films and he shud be alright.
.The review is so true. I watched the tamil version of this movie which was actually funny, not an annoying fashion show of the actor and actress in designer wear (coz that is all the movie is about). The movie is absurd and really boring. Dont watch this movie if you are into sensible comedy.

Your opinion is your opinion... However, there are many people including myself who feel that this is by far the BEST movie of Akshay Kumar's career. He was funny and looked great...when I was leaving the theatre, everyone complimented the movie and Akshay's performance. It is better if you keep your opinion to yourself and let each individual decide weather or not they like or dislike movies.

Akki was great in films like Hera Pheri but since he decided to make a dash for the top spot he has been reckless in his choice of movies.He may have made a lot of money by doing this but if he continues like this he will soon have no career left.And our directors and producers also must stop treating the viewers as though they are idiots and will slurp up any film if it has a star cast.........junta is getting more discriminating and is able to distinguish between a good comedy/action film and a glossily packaged trash like KI
Thats because we all are crazy about stars. I am sure most of us even dont know or care about knowing the people involved in movie making. I think directors, producers and other technicians should be given more importance than the actors....

I am not trying to find perfection in any movie coz entertainment is one of any movie's main purpose. For me, if the movie has no story but entertains and keeps me glued to the seat, its good.
But
Cheap jokes, abuses, shouting in the name of acting, mindless action, exposure and kissing scenes, shameless repetitive reference to sex etc etc
If this is all you call entertainment, then i am very sorry.
We can still have a good laugh without all these. Movies like golmaal, herapheri and dhamaal etc are good examples.
One more point, i would like to make here. The makers have spent so much money, effort and time to make such a .... I wont say mindless.... But non entertaining movie, whereas it was possible to make a much more entertaining and sensible movie with one fourth budget. The director has made full use of all the resources, money, star appeal, skin show, kisses, sex, jokes, action, hollywood but
passion for film making is missing.....
When will this section of indian producers and directors learn from their hollywood or even bollywood counterparts.

Thrs everythin alright in KI except for a story, nd whts shockin abt the movie is its 2+ hours as i couldn't find any story tht cud prolong this many hours. At best it should be 45 minutes minimum or well short of an hour max. Better to watch seinfeld in 1/2 hour which atleast has a story tht provides fun, little bit of vulgar comedy nd a great cast.

and yea..dont forget 2 watch KAMBAKKHT ISHQ..irrespective of flop or hit...i m damn sure AAM JUNTA doesn������t look 4 ART HOUSE cinema...had dat been d case parzania or black friday would have made records...not SINGH IS KINNG or WELCOME......KAMBAKKHT ISHQ is made to entertain us..NOT TO GIVE US an opportunity to simply write off hard work by writing few silly comments...even my maid who has been learning english can do this pretty well...!!!

It is Big, Bold, Bindaas Brand Akshay Kumar at its best,and yea, if u r really art loving person rather than just tryng to show ur knowledge on hindi cinema by writing off such a huge venture, i would advise u not to watch the movie...rather sit back at home and get couple of dvds like parzania or khuda kay liye

Thank you Kalpana.You must catch this movie on a DVd or something and then you wil realise the depths to which our popular cinema sinks with this movie.
It has everything from racist scenes(black lady at airport),crude language,buffonery and tasteless cracks at other races(vis a vis Denise richards).
.The movie is COMPLETE THRASH. Kareena looks ery old, almost like spent force. Acting has never been her forte. Hamming is and she does it aplenty. Akshay is an old goat, just unbearable...
.now that's a professional reply, sincerely. I am miffed when critics or movie reviewers write-off a movie w.r.t box-office. Its either they are too instinctive or have some personal grudge, and i said the both in your case, cuz i don't know what was it.....i like constructive criticism of any movie, wherein you explain to visitors/readers why you think the story/direction/acting isn't good and what he/she should have done better, it gives an impression how indepth your knowledge is about (though i don't doubt yours / others ability, don't take it otherwise)......., and finally, its good to hear that you don't keep/have any personal grudge, as that's important to give a unbiased opinion.....I would now stop commenting on this further, and though it seems irrelevant, wish you all the best in your future movie reviewing. nd for the record I am not a professional so the question of being paid to write or having grudges does not arise.I am at best an ordinary viewer who blogs her oinions to share with others.

.Oh, so its a rant, wonder what's next.....seriously, do you think any film can be adjuged a dud on the opening day. Don't you think that statement is a quite over the board.....the biggest movie of the hindi cinema, sholay, was adjudged a dud by the top news paper columnist and film critic, in the first week. Well, you would now say Sholay is Sholay, but you see, the same was said about Golmaal (new version), now that's a non-brainy film.......you can say the film was non-brainy, but cannot predict it will be dud, cuz you can't judge general public, the film might be a good grosser. So the harder you criticise the more harder it becomes to chew back, if its the opposite. :)........now that's some rant, eh?

.How did you "Decide" in the first day of the movie that its going to be box-office disaster....you nor can anyone predict what the box office result would be.....there were many instance where many great critics said the same thing and had to chew back what they said.....so don't make conclusion on what you "think"........and if you don't know how to comment on a badly scripted film, just say so, don't blame the film for that....if your job is to comment, then comment, however, bad it may be,,,,,people come here to listen how you review a movie, and its disappointing and it seems you have some personal grude agains the movie.....am sorry, but the whole thing is just pathetic.

Glad u enjoyed it.I do not go looking for logic in most Hindi films but this one is crude and crass. And I have a strong objection to the insult to an important Hindu mantra.
.Good to have review and underlining my assumptions..I had this feeling for the film. As for Hindu mantra is concerned and if shown in wrong lines, then they have to face the music and this time I will support this.
I am damn sure that there will be some pseudo liberal who wont find anything bad in this..after all its pertains to the creative society..TOI will be first to defend...
