WILLIAM LOWELL KANE, son of a millionaire banker and Abel Rosnovski, a first generation Polish immigrant, born on the same day, brought in extremely different households, cross each other's ways to fatefully save and finally destroy each other.

The book narrates the parallel stories of two distinctly different yet so similar lives which intermingle in such a hazardous way that each other's destruction becomes there lives' motives. Foul pay, vengeance, hatred and madness become their tools.Clouded with malignance for each other, these two strong headed men live to see betrayal from their trusted men, broken families and ultimately loosing their happiness.

This thrilling narrative of Jeffery Archer, engages the reader till the last page and certyainly leaves the reader with a happy-sad thought.
