Karnataka MLAs looting coffers in broad daylight citing study tours
Some of you may not agree, however, I will not hesitate in calling spade a spade. Shame on such public representatives, who have chosen to push the trauma being faced by peasants to the back-burner and are instead spending lavish time in the guise of study tours.

CALL IT a travesty of democracy in India or absolute lack of accountability, the fact remains some myopic, egotistical politicos in Karnataka are plundering public coffers in broad daylight, citing study tours. Well strategized plan was hatched to tour five-seven countries, picturesque beaches, enthralling forest and mountains in the guise of study sojourn.

Reports emanating from overseas countries in media are exposing the hidden conspiracy behind these so called study tours. Politicians are seen having good time in relishing sumptuous cuisine at a premium restaurant; they are seen visting waterfalls, discotheque, etc.

Another shocker to this whole drama is that almost all the political parties are hand in glove in this loot of coffer in the guise of study tours. Ruling BJP, Congress and Janta Dal (Secular) have taken their share of pie.

BJP and Congress, the two national parties often trade allegations, pointing fingers at one other on corruption and scam charges, however, this theater in the guise of study tour has exposed both the parties. The major parties often deliver tall sermons; irony is none of them practice what they preach.

According to reports emanating on the theatre to plunder public coffer, 13 MLAs are on study tour, out of which 9 are being accompanied by their wives. The itinerary involves visit to Dubai, Brazil, and Argentina among others.

What an irony? When peasants of the state are encountering severe drought, their crop is at the mercy of rain god, many of the poor peasants have resorted to extreme steps. Their own patrons of development and representatives are on a sojourn in the name of study tours.
