Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has to stay in Tihar jail for some more days as Delhi HC rejected her bail plea. But DMK party President M Karunanidhi, upset over the decision taken by the High Court, will hold a meeting on June 10 to decide on future action.

AFTER THE Delhi High court turned down the bail plea of Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who has been accused in the infamous 2G spectrum case, DMK has decided to hold an important meeting with senior leaders on June 10 over the matter. It is likely that DMK, as a sign of protest, may decide to pull its leaders out of the central cabinet. It is still not sure as to what major stance they would be taking when the party members and leadership meet to figure out their future course of action.

The court had also rejected bail plea of the Managing Director of Kalaignar TV as they could interfere with the investigation, and influence witnesses.

It implies that they would be remaining in the premises of Tihar jail in New Delhi for some more days to come. The news brought tears in Kanimozhi mothers' eyes. Most of the DMK activists had expected that her bail would be accepted but it was not to be, which disappointed them.

Justice Ajit Bharihoke of the Delhi High Court said: “The facts and circumstances prima facie show the complicity of the petitioners in the conspiracy and their having received illegal gratification of Rs. 200 crore in the account of the company controlled by them, Kalaignar TV Pvt. Ltd.,” reported The Hindu.

As the news of Kanimozhi bail request being turned down began to spread, DMK party President M Karunanidhi got upset over the rejection of bail.

If indeed, the DMK leadership decides to reverse its support to the Congress-led coalition government, the Congress will be forced to consider an alternative alliance. But sheer political survival may also force DMK to stay with the Congress for the meantime till things are settled.

DMK is a strange party. Because Karunandhi's daughter and son in law has stolen crores of rupees and at the custody of the law they want to quit the NDA and force the country for a mid term poll expenses.There is no DMK supporter demanding expulsion of the entire family to save the ideology of the party formed by great Anna. All are dancing at the tune of the family. Is he an emperor of DMK people? or are they mortgaged to this corrupt family?
