Kasab Paki terrorist hanged but Afzal Guru and others are in haven
One terrorist hanged but is that enough? No need to pat the back for achieving what was overdue. It is a case of too little and too late. Let us be united and follow an aggressive policy towards terrorism lest they destabilise our nation.

THE DAY dawned on the sprawling Yerwada Central Prison, Pune as usual. The biggish gate has jail’s name painted on its sturdy stone wall in Marathi in the Devnagari script. The flag hoisting on the main gate and change of guard across the jail watch towers went on at its own speed. The calm environment of a Shishir morning and the listless leaves of the centenarian trees too did not disclose obliquely or directly that they had a top terrorist killer from Pakistan standing  in the condemned prisoners row.

It was none else but Mohd. Aamir Kasab who, along with nine Pakistani colleagues, had attacked Mumbai with modern automatic weapons killing as many as 166 innocent Mumbaikars. Holding the commercial capital of India to ransom for four days, they had caught the security forces unawares and perpetrated atrocities as per the Pakistani agenda and dictates of their handlers in Karachi.

They had come from Karachi by boat negotiating high waves of the Arabian Sea. The training given by the Pakistan Navy had stood them in good stead all along. The mariner’s compass was a good aid indicating direction. The confessional statement of this condemned convict left no one in doubt that they were State actors whose reins were in the hands of the Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the notorious ISI.

The Supreme Court of India had already sentenced Kasab to death. He would be hanged by the neck until dead. Both he and his country, Pakistan had been told about it through Fax but the Pakis were mulish as usual in acknowledging receipt of the vital information. The common man in India had wondered why the Govt of India took so long to bring the condemned convict to the gallows.

Kasab was brought from the Arthur Road jail, Mumbai to the Central Jail, Yarwada, Mumbai because the facility for hanging to death a condemned prisoner existed only in Nagpur and Pune in Maharashtra. The hangman too was moved from Nagpur to Pune as Yarwada jail had none on its staff. The hangman, whose name is a closely guarded secret, was paid a sum of Rs 5,000 only for his job done well. Long ago the fee used to be a princely sum of Rs 10.00.

INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY

The Vedic Thought leads human beings to believe that the forces of NOBLE and the forces of Evil are always at daggers drawn. The simple souls, out of innocence, are generally entrapped by the Devilish forces. The present conference of  the Noble forces was trying to fathom deep to come out with an all pervasive fish-net and battle strategy to overwhelm the Devils and their battle trained Phalanxes. Indeed a hard nut to crack. We in India are particularly vulnerable to acts of terror at the international level because the word has gone out that Indian administration does not pursue terrorists till the end and takes parental care of them.

There are examples galore, be it the Hazratbal case of terror or the Indian Airlines plane highjack case or the attack on the Sansad Bhawan case, it is the terrorists who were treated in the BEST BHARTIYA tradition of ATITHI DEVO BHAV and fed chicken biryani. The kid-glove treatment of killer and murderer terrorists by the Indian govt motivated the Islamist terrorists to treat India as the safest haven, even  better than their El Dorado, Pakistan. Indeed it partly explains why India has been a target of repeated terrorist attacks whereas other countries like the United States of America and the United Kingdom prevented their repeat performance effectively.

Bringing Afzal Guru to gallows by the Government of India is a glaring example of inertia and lack of political will to deal with Islamic Terror effectively and decisively. This Kashmiri terror master mind stands convicted by the Supreme Court of India and sentenced to death by hanging in the 2001 attack on Sansad Bhawan case. He is an Indian citizen and our nation is answerable to none in dealing with him as per law of the land. Yet the reluctance to bring that terrorist to gallows by the central  government  in Delhi is inexplicable. However, among the theories floated to explain inaction of the central government is that the Congress party heading the coalition govt fears losing the Muslim vote-bank if Afzal Guru is hanged to death. The theory is fallacious as it puts a question mark on the patriotism of Indian Muslims. Is their love of the motherland resting on such a slender thread that punishing one of their co-religionists as ordered by the highest judicial authority of the country going to break the bond? We hope not.

MUSLIM  FACTOR

When India was partitioned on 14/15 August 1947 on the basis of the Two-Nation Theory, Hindu and Muslim, propounded by the Muslim League under M.A. Jinnah, it was understood that Muslim were getting Pakistan, carved out of Mother India, as their homeland where they could live and work as per the principles of Islam. The Indian National Congress had initially rejected the so-called Two-Nation Theory and Gandhiji had announced from housetops that India would not be divided under any circumstances even if his own body was cut into two pieces. India was partitioned but Gandhi’s body remained in one piece. The rest is history.

Logically speaking, India was for the Hindus only. But that was not to be. The djinn of Secularism came in play. In Eur0pe, Secularism means that the Christian Church would not interfere with the affairs of the State and vice-versa. However, in India Secularism came to mean complete absence of Religion from the public life. Subsequently, Secularism came to mean pro-Muslim and anti-Hindu policies of the government dominated by Nehru’s Congress party. Since Sardar Patel and Pt Nehru rarely saw eye to eye in matters of governance, they were seen to be patronizing the people of the country divided on religious lines. In my impartial opinion it would be doing injustice to the political stature of both Sardar Patel and Pt Nehru to impute communal motives.

Be that as it may, over the passage of time, Muslim population started considering Nehrus as their Protector and not the Constitution as the sacred document for all. I vividly recall what Meena Kumari, a Muslim actress with a Hindu name like Dilip Kumar, had said on the sad demise of Jawaharlal Nehru and I quote “ AB HUM MUSALMANON KA KYA HOGA?”(What is the future of us, the Muslims now?) The Hindu-Muslim divide in India was complete and irreversible. It exists even today, in the year 2012 and most of the Congress party leaders encourage it. Muslims became the vote-bank and remained so all along benefitting the Nehru family at the hustings. Indeed other regional parties like the Muslim League, the Samajwadi party, the BSP kept on poaching off and on and partially reaping the harvest too. But the Congress party, after some convulsions, chose the Muslim –vote bank as the safest and has returned to it now.

Indeed that explains why a blood thirsty Islamic terrorist like Afzal Guru is not marched to the gallows despite the clear cut verdict of the Supreme Court of India. The procedural wrangle of the Presidential pardon or denial of it is a mere fig leaf that neither hides nor reveals the true intentions of the Congress party led UPA II govt today, in the year of our Lord, 2012. What a shame!

The government need not pat its back by hanging one Paki terrorist caught by the brave jawans of the Maharashtra Police at the cost of their lives. We must motivate our security forces by encouraging them to emulate national heroes of war like Maharana Pratap and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Indeed banishing their acts of valour and lives sacrificed for the cause of nation is an anti-national act. Let there be more TV serials on their lives so that our Gen X grows into good patriots ever ready to face and kill the cruel terrorists before our motherland is harmed by them.

We all must motivate all political parties to follow policies that promote national interests, unite citizens on national pattern and NOT divide them as vote banks based on communal lines. That indeed is the strong message of united India and strong Indians that we transmit to terrorists all over the world so that they dare not cross our borders with sinister motives and diabolical designs.
