KCR ends fast, UPA government accepts Telangana state
Soon after Chidambaram's announcement, KCR broke his eleven day hunger strike. A proposed rally (Shantiyatra) has been cancelled and in its place, a huge meeting has been arranged by JCA in Osmania University on Thursday, December 10.
THE FIFTY year long struggle for Telangana has been ended with the announcement of union Home minister Chidambaram in the last minutes of day. He has asked Chief Minister Rosaiah to pass the resolution in regard to establishing the Telangana state, in the Andhra Pradesh with in the state assembly. KCR has offered thanks to the UPA government and its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. He congratulated all National party leaders, particularly opposition leader LK Advani for his support.
