KCR shifted to ICU, tension in Telengana
With Telangana Rashtriya Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao entering into seventh day of his fast, the situation of the Telangana has worsened. KCR has been shifted to ICU at the NIMS Hospital on Saturday.
TELANGANA SITUATION has worsened as the fast of Telangana Rashtriya Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao entered in to seventh day and he is said to be very weak according to the doctors of NIMS Hospital. On Saturday (December 5) KCR has been shifted to ICU and presently he is unable to talk and has lost weight of six kilos. His wife, daughter and son were all present at the NIMS Hospital.

The students of Osmania University came to the hospital in big numbers to visit KCR but his family members have requested them not to disturb him and also urged them to continue their agitation peacefully. KCR’s son conveyed the message of his father that the present agitation is historic and Telangana would not be achieved if not now.

The Joint Action Committee of Telangana Universities students wanted to continue the agitation and now they are in full support of KCR.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Ministers discussed the situation with Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and decided to write a letter to Sonia Gandhi on the situation. Earlier the government had thought of sending a group of five ministers to Delhi to appraise the situation. But it was cancelled later.

Already in Delhi, the Congress MP’s of Telangana had met Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi. Whatever efforts they made, the people of Telangana were not satisfied and they displayed their displeasure in front of the houses of ministers and MLAs. The Presidents' Conference Committee (PCC) president D Srinivas also was not spared by the agitators.
Some academicians, former and present editors also met the Chief Minister Rosaiah and discussed the situation. The Rosaiah government has utterly failed in tackling the situation from the beginning.
On the other side, some senior Congress leaders like Vasantha Nageswara Rao and others are in a mood of reviving the separate Andhra movement.

Besides this to put the students’ agitation under control the government has announced fifteen days holiday for all colleges, which was severely criticised by Telangana academicians. Particularly, the students of intermediate are worst effected with this decision.

The Central government has no option to take an appropriate decision at this juncture or at least invite KCR for talks.
