Kejriwal's prior 'expose' warning helped BJP complete homework

It refers to reactions of BJP and Congress on the much-awaited 'big' exposure made by India-Against-Corruption (IAC) team against BJP President Nitin Gadkari. Comments from both the parties were on expected lines.

THERE IS a big difference between ‘corruption’ and ‘impropriety’. BJP was justified on its part to comment ‘making mountain of (not even) a mole-hill’ because charges against Nitin Gadkari were by and large of impropriety for which system is to be blamed and in a dire need of refinement.

All discretionary land use rights given either to individuals or to institutions should be altogether banned to eliminate cases of impropriety in land-allotment. Out-of-proportion sensationalising the issue in fact diluted serious allegations put by IAC earlier against Robert Vadra and Salman Khurshid, in a bid to exhibit neutrality on part of IAC.

Such cases of impropriety and out-of-turn decisions practically exist everywhere in the society for which even IAC may not remain unaffected if it ever comes to power.

Congress, on the other hand found an opportunity to comment that both question-paper and answer-sheets were pre-prepared because of readymade instant clarifications put by BJP just after much-publicised press-conference by IAC on 17 October 2012.

But practically speaking, BJP was fully geared to provide such an instant clarification because of the leaked issue much earlier, letting them do homework before exposure made by IAC in its press-conference.

IAC should demand reforms in system to eliminate all such evils at root level. IAC lost golden opportunity to get ‘Right-To-Reject’ implemented at time of Hissar by-elections when it instead singularly opposed candidate of ruling party at a time when all the three contesting candidates had tainted records.
