The BJP seems to be going through one shock after another. Now, Uttarakhand Chief Minister, BC Khanduri has questioned the party high command's decision, for seeking his removal from the post of CM.
THE PROBLEMS for the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) are getting complicated by the day as dissent within the party ranks and files comes out in the open, battering the image of the party which used to take pride for being disciplined.
In yet another salvo, which will rankle the party leadership, former Uttarakhand chief minister BC Khanduri has sent a letter to party chief Rajnath Singh, asking him to explain the reasons for his removal from the post of chief minister. Sources said that the senior BJP leader has asked the party leadership to explain why he was asked to resign as CM even when he had the support of 27 party MLAs. Not only this, Khanduri has also questioned the move of putting the blame of Lok Sabha poll defeat only on state party chief's, whereas the party High Command has absolved itself of all responsibility for the debacle.
Meanwhile in Rajasthan, former CM Vasundhra Raje is adamant and continues to defy the party whip, thus further embarrassing the party high command.A defiant Vasundhra Raje is scheduled to hold a meeting of the legislative party today (August 26, 2009), to chalk out a strategy for the ensuing assembly session. Sources said that the issue of her resignation as the leader of the legislative party is not likely to even figure in the meeting, showing that the former Rajasthan CM is not averse to a showdown with the party chief, Rajnath Singh.
