Khatta Meetha: Movie preview
After a series of hits like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyya and Garam Masala the famous Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan due are back again the sixth time to tickle your funny bones this Friday.

A SATIRE that makes a note of the ongoing problems in the economy and the common man's plight being described by a character that bears an uncanny resemblance to the famous “Common Man” by noted cartoonist R.K.Lakshman, the famous Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan due are back again the sixth time to tickle your funny bones. After a series of hits like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyya and Garam Masala their sixth offering Khatta Meetha will be out in theatres this Friday.
 
Following the same slapstick genre, that the duo have now offered to the public a light hearted comedy that takes pot shots at corruption within the system. Talking about the movie Khatta Meetha, Akshay said, “ Our country is said to be a growing superpower with the fastest growing economy, but we still do not have good roads because of corruption in our system. This film is a message to people involved in the system”.
 
The movie originally shot in Malayalam ( Vellanakalude Naadu) by Priyadarshan himself is produced by Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd and DreamWorld Searchlight Pictures bagged the distribution rights. The movie will also act as a launch pad for southern movie actress Trisha Krishnan.
 
The plot of the movie opens with the “Common Man” having his own share of dreams and aspirations to make it big but fails to do so as he does not have enough funds to bribe the “babus”. The twist appears in the story when the new municipal commissioner Ganpule Madam (played by Trisha) who was also his ex-flame in the movie and now hates him to the core.
 
The movie has already had its own share of controversies too when Akshay was criticised by a leading film critic for the visit that he paid to the ailing Lakshman who had already suffered three major strokes. The second controversy surrounding the movie is a song called “bullshit” which is a high flier at the corrupt politicians. Akshay later cleared the air by saying , “ We are not taking names of any individual or political party in the track. We are just commenting about corruption."
