IN A shocking development, eight-year-old kidnapped school girl Naga Vaishnavi was found brutally murdered in Augu Nagar in Guntur, 30 kilometers away from Vijayawada on Monday (February 1) evening. After hearing about his daughter’s murder, Prabhakara Rao collapsed with heart stroke and later in the night died in the hospital.
Vaishnavi’s dead body was found in a boiler at a nuts and bolts manufacturing unit -Sarada Industries at Augu Nagar in Guntur. The most disconcerting aspect of the brutal murder was that it was allegedly masterminded by Vaishnavi’s father Prabhakar Rao’s first wife Venkatramanamma’s nephew Srinivas Rao who owns the Sarada Industries.
Vaishnavi was suspected to be killed soon after she was kidnapped on Saturday morning (January30). She was abducted from BRTS Road in Vijayawada while she was on her way to school along with her brother in a car. The abductors killed the car driver who resisted the kidnappers, while her elder brother managed to escape safely.
The incident evoked sharp reactions from the people in the state who demanded befitting punishment to the perpetrators of the dastardly act. Based on information given by some of those picked up, police teams searched the premises of Sarada Industries and found the charred remains of the little girl in a boiler.
According to Vijayawada city police commissioner KV Rajendranath Reddy, after killing the car driver and kidnapping Vaishnavi, the kidnappers took her in another car to Tadepalli from where they headed to Guntur. Even before reaching Guntur, which probably took them about 45 to 50 minutes, they killed her and took her body to the Sarada Industries and probably to wipe out evidence, they threw it in the boiler.
Vaishnavi and Sai Tejesh are children of Prabhakara Rao's second wife. First wife said to be developing grouse against him fearing that he is attaching his properties to the children of his second wife. First wife's brother, who is a lawyer, said to be the master brain behind this murder.
