THOUGH NOT the Oscars, another gala award show will take place on Saturday, highly anticipated by a pint sized audience. The Kids Choice Awards 2010, organised by the child aimed Nickelodeon channel will see teen throbs get the awards for television, movies, music and cartoon achievements. 

While American President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama have been nominated for the cutest couple awards, their competition consists of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Jake and Neytri (the lead stars of Avatar) for the same catagory.

For television, teen based shows like the Suite Life on Deck, iCarly, Sonny with a Chance and Wizards of Waverly Place have been nominated as favorite TV show, while Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas are nominees for best actor. Miley Cyrus has been nominated for best TV actress, alongside Miranda Cosgrove, Selena Gomez and Keke Palmer.

In music, the battle for the favorite music group is between Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers and Linkin Park, while Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga have a chance at Favorite female singer. In the favorite male singer catagory Jay Z, Sean Kingston, Mario and Ne-Yo are the nominees. There is also a favorite song catagory, songs like I gotta feeling (Black Eyed Peas), Paparazzi (Lady Gaga), Party in the USA (Miley Cyrus) and You belong with Me (Taylor Swift) stand a chance.

In movies, the favorite movie title could go to Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and X-men origins: Wolverine. The Favorite movie actor nominees list includes Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner, Shia LaBeouf and Tyler Perry, while the Favorite movie actress list includes Sandra Bullock, Miley Cyrus, Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana, though Sandra Bullock may not attend.

Hosted by Kevin James, one of the higlights for the Kids Choice Awards 2010, would be Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno jumping into a pool of slime, after he is slingshot into it by John Cena, World Wrestling Entertainment champion. Others who could be slimed include Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Katy Perry, Miranda Cosgrove, Chris Rock, Shaun White, Jonah Hill, Keke Palmer, Queen Latifah, Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith.
